GTC wins Cambridge deal
GTC has won contracts to provide gas and electricity networks to supply over 2500 new homes and commercial premises, on land near to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
The first phase of GTC’s work will include arranging the street lighting for the new access road from the M11 junction to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
The Clay Farm project, adjacent to Cambridge’s Biomedical Campus, is complex and will build out in phases over a number of years. GTC’s engineers will install gas governors and electricity substations to supply the Countryside Properties development. This new community will also be served by Cambridge’s innovative guided bus – a traffic free link between Cambridge and rural towns such as Huntingdon and St Ives which will reduce congestion on the busy A14.
Clive Linsdell, managing director at GTC, said: “We are delighted to be working with Countryside Properties on what is an exciting new project for Cambridge. This development includes several challenging aspects, not least its proximity to a major railway line and the busy Addenbrooke’s Hospital. GTC’s enviable performance record makes us an excellent partner to deliver this impressive project”.
